9:00am - 10:15am Aldrich Park	New Student Convocation Required for all new students, this convocation is the official opening of the school year! You'll be introduced to the Chancellor, Vice chancellors, and Deans for the various schools at UCI. Join the pep squad and band as you start your first year as an anteater.
9:00am - 5:00pm 2200 Student Services II	Transfer Student Center and Lounge Grand Opening Celebration All new and continuing transfer students to UC Irvine are welcome to stop by and visit the new Transfer Student Center and Lounge. Come and see where you can hang out, store, cook and eat your lunch, get a cup of coffee, tea or water, check your email and study in one of the private study rooms!
10:30am - 11:30am Various Locations	Dean's Welcome New students are invited to meet with the Deans and staff of the various schools. Important academic updates will be presented and opportunities for involvement will be discussed. Immediately following Dean's Welcome Aldrich Park	Anteater Involvement Fair This event, immediately following the various Dean's Welcome programs, will occur in Aldrich Park. The fair showcases over 200 UCI campus organizations, 20 student performances, and many interactive displays. Also in the park is our New Student BBQ, where all incoming undergraduate first year and transfer students will enjoy lunch as they get to know one another. Join us and learn how you can get involved at UCI!
11:00am - 12:00pm H. Schneiderman Lecture Hall 100	Welcome to the Department of Chemistry Members of the Chemistry faculty and student club welcome new students. They will explain the chemistry curriculum and answer questions about their program.
11:00am - 12:00pm Croul Hall 1103	Welcome to the Department of Earth System Science Members of the ESS faculty and student club welcome new students. They will explain the earth science curriculum and answer questions about their program.
11:00am - 12:00pm Rowland Hall 101	Welcome to the Department of Mathematics Members of the Math faculty and student club welcome new students. They will explain the mathematics curriculum and answer questions about their program.
11:00am - 12:00pm Physical Sciences Classroom Building 120	Welcome to the Department of Physics & Astronomy Members of the Physics faculty and student club welcome new students. They will explain the physics curriculum and answer questions about their program.
11:00am - 1:00pm Social Ecology II 1304	Sociology Department Dialogue Learn about the Department of Sociology's unique attributes. Sociology Chair Feng Wang and Professor Katie Faust will be hosting the dialogue. Take advantage of this opportunity to have your department inquiries and concerns addressed in an open and interactive setting.
11:00am - 1:00pm Social Science Lab 140	Political Science Department Dialogue Discover the unique characteristics of the Political Science major through an informal dialogue with department faculty and undergraduates. Associate Dean Sereseres will serve as the faculty host. Start your academic career off with valuable first person insights.
11:00am - 2:00pm Courtyard between Social Science Tower and Social Science Lab	Meet and Greet with School of Social Science Departments Come and meet faculty, staff and current students in the School of Social Sciences.
11:00am - 3:00pm Aldrich Park Spot 286	The Peer Academic Advising Program presents: First Resort Advising Peer academic advisors ("PAAs") will be stationed in a booth directly in front of Aldrich Hall. They will offer academic advising and information about campus resources to any and all students who stop by. They will disseminate literature about the PAA program as well as other brochures about UCI resources.

Attend UCI "Road Rules" commuter orientations where you can meet with Upper Classmen and a small group of other commuter students. 1:00pm - 6:00pm Aldrich Park Spot 39	Students for Sustainability A showcase of the sustainability initiatives being led by the Irvine Student Sustainability Coalition, a chapter of the California Student Sustainability Coalition.
1:30pm Social Science Tower 120	SAGE Scholars Program Information Session Come learn more about how to obtain paid internships and up to $6,000 in scholarship from the SAGE Scholar Program.
1:30pm - 2:30pm 2200 Student Services II	Top 10 Transfer Survival Tips How will you make the most of your transfer experience? By being fully prepared about what to expect your first quarter and beyond, and how to not only survive the transition to UC Irvine, but THRIVE in the process!
1:30pm - 4:00pm Physical Science Lecture Hall 100	Mandatory Orientation for New International Students Required orientation for all new international students, including transfer students. Students will receive information on International Center services and programs. Immigration rules and regulations, and an introduction to UCI resources. Light refreshments will be served following orientation.

2:00pm - 3:30pm Calit2 Auditorium/Atrium	Engineering Welcome Week Alumni Experience Panel and Ice Cream Social All new engineering majors are invited to learn about the experiences of Samueli School alumni who have gone to work in a variety of industries and sectors. Listen to alumni from all five engineering departments discuss their path from college to industry and beyond, and enjoy an ice cream social afterwards.
2:00pm - 4:00pm Natural Sciences I, 1114	Welcome Reception for New Transfer Students Great opportunity to meet students, professors, and counseling staff. Student panel on tips for success and transitioning to the university. Delicious food will be served. A great opportunity to network.

4:00pm - 6:00pm International Peace and Conflict Studies: Arroyo Vista: House 1022	International Peace and Conflict Studies Open House Interested in a fun and safe environment where you can discuss important and controversial issues? Come to the International Peace and Conflict Studies Open House to meet others like you.
5:00pm - 6:00pm Humanities Hall 262	Campus Crusade for Christ & Epic Welcome Event We want to give students the opportunity to know and follow God during their college years. Come meet our staff and students and learn about our activities on campus.
7:00pm - 8:30pm Social Science Tower 220A	Mock Trial Informational Meeting Mock Trial is a competitive organization that gives undergraduates an opportunity to learn first hand about trial law and courtroom etiquette. Using acting, critical thinking, and communication skills, students take on the roles of witnesses and attorneys and travel across the country to compete against rival universities.
8:00pm - 4:00am Anteater Recreation Center	Late Night with Campus Recreation An all night recreational sports extravaganza! Late Night will feature rock climbing, inflatable games, racquetball, aquatic fun, basketball, movies, speed soccer, dance demos, competitive games, and martial arts demos. Event is free to all UCI Students, Faculty & Staff with a valid UCI ID.
