Shawn moved across the country to join the Dean of Students family in July 2008. As the IT Technician and Web Developer, Shawn is responsible for implementing new technologies and performance maintenance on existing systems and websites. He advises the directors of technology-related decisions and manages all aspects of Campus Organizations technology.

Shawn received his Masters in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia tech in 2008 where he worked as a graduate assistant and web master in the Office of Capital Assets and Financial Management. He earned his bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado in 2006 and was a student assistant in the business office.

Shawn truly appreciates, 'the diversity of the campus, the wonderful weather and the positive attitude of the student body." He enjoys working in the college environment because of its focus on learning and new ideas. He also likes the satisfaction of assisting students and staff with projects that are important to them. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, hiking, exercising and playing video games. One thing to note about Shawn, he is a die-hard Virginia Tech Hokie football fan.
