Edgar Dormitorio
Director, Office of Student Conduct
and Assistant Dean of Students
Edgar has been a member of the UC Irvine staff since 1999. In his role as Director of the Office of Student Conduct and Assistant Dean of Students, Edgar oversees student conduct and discipline. “Others may see the work of student conduct as arduous and tiresome since we are dealing with students who get ‘in trouble’. We see working with student conduct issues as an opportunity to meet students and help them think about their decisions with the aim of making them better individuals.”
Born and raised in Southern California, Edgar earned his bachelors degree in Social Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to this appointment, Edgar served as the Director for the UCI Volunteer Center (now known as the Center for Service in Action). While in his graduate program at UCLA, he worked in the non-profit sector in downtown Los Angeles directing a voter education project for underserved communities.
As an undergraduate student at UC Irvine he was involved in the Cross- Cultural Center, ASUCI, and the Office of the Dean of Students. Edgar enjoys the dynamic pace and the innovating and exciting things students, staff and faculty bring to UC Irvine everyday. He enjoys meeting students and finding out about their goals, interests and life stories. UC Irvine provides so much for students who are willing to engage with others in their community. |
