Parents

Welcome Anteater Parents! You've now become part of the UCI family and we are happy you've joined us. Orientation is an important part of your son or daughter's start at UCI. For freshmen, orientation (SPOP) is mandatory. If you have a son or daughter transferring to UCI there is an optional half day program – Transfer Success.

You as parents are welcome to attend SPOP (Student Parent Orientation Program) on Day 2 for a fee but it is NOT required. We will have a special set of presentations for parents...and some overlap with students in workshops. Parents are also welcome at Transfer Success.

Space is limited and it is first come, first serve.

• Parent Schedule - The parent orientation schedule is slightly different from the student schedule. Please note 8-9am check-in time.

• Hotels - There is no overnight option at SPOP for parents. Parents who need accommodations will need to find a hotel. Visit our link for special UCI rates on various hotels.

• Dining commons pricing and hours - Want to sample the res hall food? Eat at Pippin (Middle Earth) or Mesa Commons (Mesa Court) before or after SPOP. Or any time for that matter!

Reservations for orientation have closed. Contact your academic unit for alternative advising if you did not sign up for an orientation program.

Please note - the one day orientation for parents begins with check-in between 8-9 am.

Due to a change in library hours SPOP 3 and SPOP 6 will not have Langson Library Tours.

UCI Course Catalogues are now available to be ordered online. Order yours today and get to know what UCI has to offer. Be advised, you should not order the catalogue within 5 business days of your SPOP program as it will not be delivered on time. You will have the opportunity to pick one up at the UCI Bookstore.

All correspondences and confirmations go to your UCI Webmail. You are encouraged to check it for important updates regarding your SPOP reservation.

Engineering will NOT be processing changes of major during SPOP.

A program change request form will be made available online next week. Please look out for an email in your UCI webmail account with details. The option to add or remove parents from your reservation will also be made available online. We will again email you with details.
